Congee

Congee or juk is a super easy and tasty way to use up old rice. It's particularly easy if you cook rice on a stovetop and you have a bunch that sticks at the bottom of the pot, because you can just reuse that pot directly.

  1. Put the rice, water and seasonings together. Let boil for 45 minutes or however long it takes to taste good and for the rice to just get fatter and bigger.
  2. When it's the porridge-y consistency you want, add the toppings.
  3. Eat!
